Stephen and Michelle are here visiting Kansas City and we met them for lunch today at The Classic Cup on the plaza. It was yummy and a beautiful day! It was absolutely gorgeous! Took a couple pics and here they are!

News from Naples

Hi everyone, we are enjoying the great weather of Naples, Florida. It has been some of the most wonderful weather we have ever had. I just pulled up the blog for Carol and Dick and they love it. Anne, you might be getting a call from Dick about setting up a blog for them.

Carol and I went shopping along fifth avenue yesterday and, miracles of miracles, did not buy one thing. We have never done that before!

Today we went to the Turtle Club and had a fantastic lunch/dinner. We sat on a beachfront deck overlooking the gulf. It was warm but very nice. I had every intention of taking pictures but forgot the camera!

We will take some pictures though, and will definitely post some when we return.

Five Year Wedding Anniversary - 10/10/08

So we had the best of intentions over the weekend to post some pictures from our wedding to mark our 5 year wedding anniversary but it just didn't happen. (Maybe it could still happen but I will not make any promises.) Lots of things have happened in five years since we were married and here is a list of just a couple things:

• We have both had three jobs.
• We have lived in two apartments and owed our first home.
• We have lived in two different cities.
• We finally broke down and bought "grown up" bedroom furniture.
• We have had four cars in the last four years. We had to buy two right when we moved here since we had none in Chicago - one was totaled by a semi and one Jeff sold to the nice construction worker down the street. The other two we still own. :)
• Most of our very close friends have also made moves that have brought all of us closer - our good friends Tina and Jason live on the same street as us after moving from WI, our friends Brian and Keri have moved here from CA (just a few miles from us), Kent and Jo have moved here from MI and Grant and Alex have moved to Omaha (3 hours) from Utah.
• We still have our two cats - Norman (13yrs) and Xena (12yrs) - and they are slowly becoming grumpy old cats. Actually they only get grumpy if we stop petting them - and lets be totally realistic here - it's just Norman.

Jeff and I have been together since 1994. We have lived in four cities together, moved 8 times, have had some really great jobs in all of those cities and have made some really great friends everywhere we have gone. We have been truly blessed in our life together, supported by great friends and great family, and we look forward to many many many more years together.

Baby update

Well we just got back from our 13 week apt. We got to hear the heart beat and it sounded wonderful.He was very pleased with what he heard. The baby is now 3 inches long and weighs in at 1 ounce. He checked my weight and I have lost a pound but he was not concerned at all. I also got my test results back and they are all normal. However, I am not immune to 5ths disease so I will have to be careful about exposure to that one. I am also switching over to a new prescription prenatal vitamin. On my way out I got a flu shot for added protection for me and the baby.

All is well with me. I am still suffering from head aches but now that my hormones are leveling out that should start to go away. I have not gotten sick since Wednesday so let's all hope that is finished. My next apt. is in November. More later....

The 1st belly pic.....

Here is me at 12 weeks. My hair is wet so that is why it is kind of curly. I know that week 12 is when you are supposed to start to feel better. But, this week has been awful. I have been puking since Sunday. Hopefully, I will stop gagging and getting sick. Other than that all is well here.
