New Job

Hey all,

Well the new job started off a little slow to get off the ground. I was really sick the first week (last week) and on Thursday I was coughing so much I couldn't get through a sentence. It was terrible! It is hard to start a new position feeling horrible and trying to get through your day and hoping they understand that you were worth the effort even though you can't function. :-) But they were all very understanding. This week I am still sick - but functioning. I can't wait for this cold to get going on it's way. It has been a strange working environment to get used to. If I do head to the office, I never know if I am going to see anyone there (there are only three other women that work from the office) or if I will be by myself. I have worked from home about six days out of the last ten and I keep wondering...do they know I am working? I am sure it will become second nature at some point but right now it is all very new.

I am still waiting to be paired up with a school in Kansas and on the Missouri side I have just started working on getting some of their students in businesses for the National Job Shadow day on February 2. Now if could just get those darn teachers to call me back! I can't wait until I can really get the ball rolling - I am not very good at waiting for things to happen. I just want to dive in and get to work.

I hope all of you are doing well and I look forward to seeing you in March! Love to you all - Anne

I know the feeling about working from home. When I started working from home, I always wanted to make sure co-workers and my boss knew I was "actually" working and not watching my soaps;) I always tried to respond to emails immediately or answer calls right away, so it appeared I was sitting at my desk. It actually took quite awhile for me to adjust to that, but eventually I did (I think). Hope you have a good week ahead of you!

Anne, it always takes awhile to get use to a new job especially one that you are not going to a place of business. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon.
